CostPerNews Editorial Policy
Our goal is practical, accurate affiliate marketing coverage that readers can verify and use.
Expert oversight
CostPerNews editorial direction is led by Evan Weber, a digital and affiliate marketing practitioner with more than 20 years of experience. Analysis is written for working affiliate managers, marketers, agencies, and brand leaders.
Research and sourcing
We prioritize primary sources such as company announcements, platform documentation, regulatory materials, research reports, and direct statements. When an article relies on an external fact or statistic, readers should be able to identify and evaluate the source. Analysis and opinion are presented as such rather than as established fact.
Sourcing and citations
Articles that report news, statistics, or company announcements list their sources at the end of the page. Where an article draws on practitioner experience and general industry knowledge rather than a specific document, it says so in a visible sourcing note. Readers who spot a claim that needs a citation can flag it and we will add one or correct the article.
Field performance measurement
CostPerNews measures Core Web Vitals — Largest Contentful Paint (LCP), Interaction to Next Paint (INP), Cumulative Layout Shift (CLS), and Time to First Byte (TTFB) — on every page using the Web Vitals library. Measurements are taken at the field level in real user sessions. Vitals are logged in development and reported as anonymised beacons in production. No personally identifiable information is collected. The goal is to maintain LCP below 2.5 s, INP below 200 ms, and CLS below 0.10 on a p75 basis.
AI-assisted production
CostPerNews may use AI tools to help identify topics, organize research, draft language, or create illustrations. AI assistance does not replace editorial responsibility. Published claims, recommendations, bylines, metadata, and disclosures remain the responsibility of the publication and its editorial lead.
Reviews, rankings, and commercial relationships
Reviews and rankings are based on factors relevant to affiliate program operators, including platform fit, partner discovery, tracking, reporting, service model, and practical limitations. A commercial relationship does not guarantee favorable coverage. Material ownership, client, referral, or affiliate relationships are disclosed where they could affect a reader's interpretation.
Evan Weber has material commercial relationships with the following companies: Experience Advertising (affiliate program management agency he founded and operates), AffiliateFinders (publisher discovery software he owns), and PublisherFinders (a related platform). Articles discussing any of these carry a visible page-level disclosure banner. Links to these companies carry rel="sponsored" and UTM tracking parameters.
Publisher promotions
CostPerNews is published to bring readers to the two businesses above. Every page carries clearly labeled placements for Experience Advertising and AffiliateFinders — in the navigation, inside and after articles, on topic guides, and in the footer. Each placement is marked From our publisher · Sponsored, its links carry rel="sponsored" and UTM parameters, and no third-party ad technology, tracking pixels, or programmatic advertising is used. These placements never change what we cover or how we cover it; competitors of both businesses appear in our reporting and rankings on the same criteria as anyone else.
Sponsorship
CostPerNews accepts a limited number of clearly labeled sponsorship placements from relevant affiliate marketing vendors. Sponsorships are paid placements, always marked as Sponsored, and carry no editorial endorsement. Sponsors do not influence editorial coverage, review scores, rankings, or article tone. See the Work With Us page for details.
Email communications
CostPerNews does not operate an email newsletter and will not do so until subscriber consent flows, preference management, and one-click unsubscribe controls are in place that meet FTC CAN-SPAM and applicable international standards. The RSS feed is the current canonical subscription method.
Corrections and updates
We correct material factual errors and update articles when an industry development changes the usefulness of the original analysis. Publication and modification dates reflect the history of the page. Correction history is disclosed inline on the affected article. To flag an issue, contact Evan through his public LinkedIn profile with the article URL and supporting evidence.
